About This Spot

Dave's Seafood & Subs is the kind of neighborhood spot where the rhythm slows just enough to make you feel at home the moment you step inside. Nestled on a quiet stretch of Walney Road in Chantilly, this unassuming eatery quietly hums with the friendly, easygoing energy of a place where locals gather to share simple, satisfying meals without any fuss.

The atmosphere here is relaxed and unpretentious, inviting you to settle in and savor the flavors of classic American seafood done with genuine care. It’s a spot where the scent of fresh fried fish mingles with the warmth of crispy hush puppies and the tang of well-seasoned sides, creating a comforting sensory welcome that feels both familiar and welcoming. Conversations float easily between tables, where plates piled with golden shrimp or hearty subs seem to encourage slow, contented bites and unhurried moments.

What makes Dave’s feel truly authentic is its embrace of those genuine, homey touches—the kind of food that isn’t about fancy presentation but about delivering an honest, soulful experience. Whether it’s the perfectly fried tilapia alongside mac and cheese that holds its own charm or a crab cake sub stacked just right, the flavors come through as both straightforward and thoughtfully balanced. The menu’s variety speaks to a community that appreciates solid, hearty portions paired with friendly service that makes you feel recognized, not rushed.

Over time, Dave’s has quietly earned a reputation for being a reliable harbor for fresh seafood flavors at approachable prices—a rarity in the Northern Virginia dining scene. The focus remains on delivering exactly what any visitor seeking comfort food with a fried twist hopes for: generous helpings, well-seasoned sides, and a pace that lets the meal unfold without hurry. You’ll find plenty of regulars here who appreciate that home-cooked vibe, and it shows in the steady warmth that fills the room.

In all, Dave’s Seafood & Subs captures the spirit of a cherished local corner where food is less about flash and more about feeling welcomed, nourished, and satisfied. It’s a place where familiar favorites feel new again simply because they’re made with care and shared with a smile.

Absolute amazing place to eat traditional fried American food done right by Americans! The prices are fair and there’s a good variety of drinks and sides. The mac & cheese is amazing no matter what that other guy says. To the guy that said it’s not American owned anymore, it most certainly is I guess you just got a problem on what kind of Americans they are. Also, pretty sure they are Korean. Or at least that’s what my Chinese Buddy tells me! But since it is Asian American owned now we are forced to eat with chopsticks.

We have been eating here since 2005. The owners are so nice. The food is always excellent. I usually get the fried chicken sandwich, but often get the burger or the fried shrimp.

Simple "no thrills" place but tasty food. While most restaurants have had to raise prices across the board, this restaurant has kept prices very reasonable. Not easy to find affordable seafood in Northern Virginia. If you don't mind it being fried, this is a place to check out.

When I say 10 out of 10! I truly mean it. My first time coming here. Every part of my meal was on point! Collard Greens seasoned just right. Shrimp and Scallops fried to perfection! Mac and Cheese very cheesy! Even the Sweet Tea had just the right amount of sugar in it! Prices are great for what you get! Definitely a Top Tier Food Spot!
